Senior Developer for Salesforce®

Senior Developer Position Description
Our work with clients combines technical expertise with hands-on understanding of non-profit operations.   Success in this role requires knowledge of both non-profit operations in general and Salesforce in particular.  The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with consultants to deliver efficient, sustainable, solutions to clients. 
This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to juggle a number of projects at once.  Communication skills and a genuine interest in helping people are very important.  The ability to collaborate with peers and clients while building consensus is also critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Build client-specific solutions on the Force.com platform using Apex and Visualforce with the goal of providing clients with sensible solutions that can be managed and maintained within the budget and personnel resources available to them
  • Assist with migration of client’s current CRM data to Salesforce and create custom code as needed
  • Create a library of reusable code for future project solutions
  • Provide guidance and best practices around Salesforce solutions for both clients and firm development
  • Review project requirements and work with consultants and project managers to refine the technical details of project specifications
  • Develop and document user instructions and administrative maintenance requirements for use of Salesforce customizations
  • Contribute to the development of additional products and services

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of Force.com development experience
  • Salesforce Developer certification required, Advanced Developer a plus
  • Expert knowledge of object-oriented methodologies and approaches
  • Expert knowledge of relational databases
  • Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce development environment including Apex, Triggers, S-Controls, Visualforce, Force.com IDE, migration tools and Web services
  • Prior experience with Force.com developer toolkit - Apex, Visualforce, Force.com IDE, Force.com Migration Tool, Web Services/SOA & Metadata API
  • Development experience with Eclipse IDE, Force.com Sites
  • Experience with integration technologies commonly used with Salesforce is a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with a geographically dispersed team
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Salesforce for the non-profit sector and unique needs of nonprofits using Salesforce preferred
  • Exposure to on-line marketing strategy and tools like Convio, NetCommunity, and Kintera a plus

Consultant for Salesforce®

Consulting Position Description
Our work with clients combines technical expertise with hands-on understanding of non-profit operations.   Success in this role requires advanced knowledge of both non-profit operations in general and Salesforce in particular.  The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to work with organizations to develop clear business processes, efficient workflow systems, and best practices.
Our projects range from stewarding a full conversion and implementation to performing a day of targeted cleanup or strategic consulting.  This position delivers the full breadth of our services and is actively supported by the rest of our team.
This position requires strong project management skills and the ability to juggle a number of projects at once.  Because most of the work is client facing, communication skills and a genuine interest in helping people is very important.  The ability to collaborate with peers and clients while building consensus is also critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements, develop system design documents, and configure system
  • Conduct user acceptance testing sessions
  • Deliver end-user training
  • Develop process documentation
  • Conduct system assessments and develop project plans
  • Assist with migration of client’s current CRM data to Salesforce
  • Analyze current business practices and make recommendations for improved effectiveness and efficiency
  • Develop and implement coding streamlining plans
  • Confidently deliver recommendations and facilitate decision making processes
  • Contribute to the development of additional products and services

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with Visualforce, Demand Tools, Apex Data Loader and other emerging technologies associated with the Force.com platform
  • MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
