We serve every size organization, from small to large, including independent schools and higher education institutions, membership organizations such as zoos and museums, healthcare foundations and human service agencies, and environmental and advocacy groups. We specialize in helping clients with their CRM software and skillfully aligning people, systems, and management to ensure smooth operations and effective support of fundraising and mission management. We serve clients around the country from our regionally based teams in San Francisco, Chicago and New Jersey. Consulting Position Description Our work with clients combines technical expertise with hands-on understanding of non-profit operations. Success in this role requires advanced knowledge of both non-profit operations in general and SalesForce in particular. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to work with organizations to develop clear business processes, efficient workflow systems, and best practices. Our projects range from stewarding a full conversion and implementation to performing a day of targeted cleanup or training. This position delivers the full breadth of our services and is actively supported by the rest of our team. This position requires strong project management skills and the ability to juggle a number of projects at once. Because most of the work is client facing, communication skills and a genuine interest in helping people is very important. The ability to collaborate with peers and clients while building consensus is also critical for success in this position. Responsibilities: - Conduct system assessments and develop project plans
- Assist with the migration of the client’s current CRM data to SalesForce
- Analyze current business practices and make recommendations for improved effectiveness and efficiency
- Develop and implement coding streamlining plans
- Confidently deliver recommendations and facilitate decision making
- Develop and document best processes and workflow
- Deliver formal and informal training and seminar presentations
- Contribute to the development of additional products and services
- Collaborate on efforts to grow the firm
Required Skills: - Proficiency in SalesForce in the non-profit sector
- Familiarity with Visual Force, Demand Tools, Apex Data Loader and other emerging technologies associated with the Force.com platform
- Exposure to on-line marketing strategy and tools like Convio, NetCommunity, and Kintera
- MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Client relationship building
Additional Information This position requires travel up to 40% of the time. This Role Our clients, almost all of whom use Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge® fundraising software, are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their use of technology throughout their organizations. We offer a range of services to assist non-profit organizations with optimization of their use of the Raiser’s Edge including data conversions, integration programming, software customizations, data warehousing, custom report solutions and strategic consulting on organization-wide integration plans as they pertain to RE. This role will primarily focus on programming for custom solutions; in particular report writing and developing utilities that help organizations to expand the usefulness of their software. This role requires self-motivation, willingness to develop new solutions when necessary, and some scheduling flexibility during critical delivery phases of large projects. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a variety of clients and an enthusiastic team of co-workers on innovative ventures in the non-profit arena. There are full and part time tracks for this position. The specific services delivered by the person in this role include: - Developing field maps for data conversions and integrations
- Programming and completing data conversions using Data Junction, SQL and MS Access
- Creating data integration tools between RE and other software systems using VBA, Blackbaud’s RE Application Programming Interface (API) and/or SQL
- Developing, reviewing and enhancing SQL queries to access data directly from the back end of the Raiser’s Edge
- Report writing in MS SQL Reporting Services, Crystal Reports and MS Access
- Developing detailed and thorough documentation to support technical work
- Providing feedback and ideas for improvements to technical service approaches used
Responsibilities: - Performing programming per above
- When appropriate, participating in project bidding process by:
- Conducting initial research and testing of solutions when necessary
- Providing project time estimate
- When appropriate, documenting options for multiple approaches so that clients can choose optimal, most cost-effective solution
- Analyzing clients’ existing data integration and/or reporting tools
- Assist clients in getting their data out of other software systems
- Providing clear documentation to the firm and client on programming functionality
- Supporting staff with their technical needs in these areas, providing one-on-one or small group trainings to staff on these topics as needed
- Maintain working and up-to-date knowledge of available relevant resources, including, but not limited to books, product documentation, Internet sites, and where appropriate, relationships with other industry experts
- Limited travel required
Qualifications: - Experience with SQL and .NET programming
- Experience with SQL Reporting Services
- Experience with VBA and Access
- Experience with Pervasive software suite a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with people across the spectrum of technical skill or expertise: must be able to write project specifications and explain technical concepts to both end-users and technical support staff
- Must be willing and able to manage work on multiple active projects simultaneously and keep project managers up to date regularly
- Experience in a non-profit environment a big plus

This Role The Project Coordinator position is responsible for successful client project coordination for all active projects. This position supports the Project Management Team in the oversight of project timelines and schedules to prevent the collision of project milestones and high priority action items by coordinating and ensuring that resources on concurrent projects avoid conflicts, while tracking and identifying scenarios which overbook or constrain staff. Our projects range from stewarding enterprise level implementations that last 18 months to performing a day of targeted cleanup or training. However, this individual will primarily focus on our larger and more complex projects. This position requires strong project management skills and the ability to juggle a number of projects at once. Because most of the work is dependent on a close collaboration with many team members and clients, the perfect candidate will have strong communication skills, will be detail oriented, very organized and have the ability to work calmly in a demanding and fast paced environment. Responsibilities: - Manage the project and resource tracking components in our project management system, currently Open Air
- Work with management team to identify and implement new tools to help manage projects more efficiently
- Set-up, run, and distribute regularly scheduled project and resource reports
- Set-up new projects and make updates as needed in Open Air
- Assist with the coordination, maintenance and distribution of all required project materials and documentation
- Assist with scheduling and logistics to ensure the successful progression of projects, utilizing internal tools such as MS Office Suite, MS Project, Open Air, and GoToMeeting/Webinar
- Develop a project coordination process that supports our project management methodology
- Create internal and external supporting materials and implement the adoption of new processes
- Coordinate project activities in direct support of the Project Managers
- Develop/maintain knowledge of the scheduling and project management processes
- Review final project documentation to ensure quality and cohesiveness for the client
- Actively participate in the firm’s ongoing process to review and refine our existing approach and service, and contribute to the creation of new processes
Required Skills: - BA/ BS degree required
- PMP certification, or work towards certification
- Minimum of 2-4 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in project coordination
- Ability to learn quickly, allocate time efficiently, handle multiple projects and deliverables concurrently, and manage competing priorities
- Effectively manage own workload and proactively communicate with team members
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills are required
- Strong analytical skills are a plus
- Exposure to tools utilized in the non-profit sector are helpful
- Proficiency with MS Project
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work with enthusiasm in a positive and fast paced environment
